Slovenia plays the United States on Tuesday in the 2014 FIBA World Cup basketball quarterfinals.  Tipoff is at 3:00 p.m. ET.  Watch the live stream below.

Team USA has an entirely different look from the team that won Olympic gold in 2012.  Despite lacking big-name superstars, the United States easily played their way into Tuesday's quarterfinals.    With Derrick Rose coming off the bench for precautionary reasons, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins have stepped up and played well for the team.  Davis is having a breakout summer for Team USA, but the biggest surprise is Cousins, whom coach Mike Krzyzewski knew from the start could help the national team.

"We have believed in DeMarcus right from training camp," Krzyzewski said, via USA Today Sports.  "All the reports about him not making the team and all that were all not right.  We felt that he would be the perfect guy with or in place of Anthony at times, but more in the place of Anthony.

"I think it's just a matter of him continuing to get in better shape.  ... I think his defense has really improved.  He tried to take three charges (on Saturday against Mexico), and played (Gustavo) Ayon pretty well without getting help so (Mexico) couldn't get a three off of him."

Rose, coming off his second knee surgery in as many years, hasn't had the type of impact one would expect from a former league MVP.  That could change on Tuesday thanks to an adjustment Rose declined to disclose.

"Tomorrow is going to be a different game.  I think I found it now.  Just changed one little thing," Rose said, via K.C. Johnson's Twitter.

When asked what, Rose said: "You'll see tomorrow."

The adjustment likely has to do with his shot.  He hasn't been great from the field, although ESPN's Marc Stein reported a source as saying Rose's jumper is starting to look like it used to.
