Katt Williams is speaking out about the night rap mogul Suge Knight was shot six times at a pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown. The comedian told TMZ that Knight was not the intended target and was trying to save someone else's life. It's been rumored that the shooter, who has not been identified, might have been after Chris Brown.

Williams told TMZ that he was with Knight at the party and he witnessed the whole thing go down.

"If you're an idiot, you can believe that this was about Suge Knight but Suge Knight has been accessible every day of his life for 20 years," the comedian said. "We know who it was aimed at, we know whose life he saved and we know why they won't talk about it."

According to TMZ police have the shooter on surveillance cameras but no one is willing to talk about what happened.

"I'm pretty sure Suge knows who shot Suge," Williams told the photographer, before going into a rant that "nobody" shot the rap mogul.

Williams also talked about rumors claiming that the shooting was gang-related and said the rumor didn't make any sense because no one shot back.

"If it was gang related why didn't it happen thoroughly," Williams told TMZ. "Parts of this story just don't seem to make sense. You're saying it was gang-related so that means somebody's gang was shooting at somebody's gang and somebody's gang didn't shoot back. That's your story? That's not really how gang stuff works, is it?"

Media Take Out previously reported that Chris Brown was the intended target of the shooting. A source close to the situation told the site that once the "Love More" singer got of rehab, he cut a lot of bad people out of his life. Apparently this left some of his former friends a little angry.

"Chris used to run with a bunch of gang members who were really scary," the source told MTO. "When he got out [of rehab], he cut them all off. I guess they're upset about that."
