A new European website says it offers a security blanket for phone addicts - a plastic casing exactly the same size and weight as an iPhone, The Daily Mail reported on Saturday.

The noPhone is boasted to have no camera or bluetooth and it can't make calls. The item is supposed to simulate the same weight and dimensions of popular smartphones in order to alleviate feelings of inadequacy caused by the absence of a real smart phone.

The noPhone has far superior fetters to a normal smartphone because it's completely wireless, batter-free, doesn't require software updates and is shatterproof and waterproof.

NoPhone's website brags that it's user will "never again experience the unsettling feeling of flesh on flesh when closing your hand."

In the testimonials section, David H. said he used to sleep with his phone in his hand, but night terrors would cause him to hurt his phone across the room in an "unconscious panic."

"With the noPhone, I can still enjoy the comfort of holding a phone in my sleep, without waking up to a shattered screen. Thanks, noPhone," he said.

Craig G. also said that because of noPhone, he hasn't drunk texted his ex-boyfriend in one week.

The website doesn't say where someone can go and buy a noPhone, but recent research has found that more than half of gadget owners worldwide (53 percent) admit to suffering anxiety when they don't have access to their phones. Having a technological detox was "as stressful as a trip to the dentist or even their own wedding day," according to The Daily Mail.

"What inspired us is the fact that a lot of people around us nowadays are focused on their mobile devices and not on the social environment anymore," one of the project's designers, told ABC News.

He said the group is still figuring out the possibility of manufacturing and selling the noPhone, but it's something they hope to do in the future.
