Serena Williams is on the hunt for her 52nd title and her second singles at the 2013 French Open.  She faces rising French star Caroline Garcia on Wednesday in round two.

Williams comes into the event with momentum.  She's won titles from the Sony Open, the Family Circle Cup, the Mutua Madrid Open and the International BNL d'Italia, Tennis Earth reports.  She hasn't made it to the finals of the Open in over a decade, and her one and only win came in 2002.  Still, William's career has enjoyed a recent renaissance of sorts and she enters round two as the favorite.

Garcia, 19, is ranked No. 113 in the World.  She has four ITF Career Singles titles to her name and now the opportunity to make her mark on the WTA Circuit with an upset win over Williams.

The French player will have her hands full as she deals with William's powerful serve and hard ground strokes.  Williams has only lost twice this season, and her improved counter punching skills have proven she's not a one-dimensional player.

Williams and Garcia square off on Court Philippe.  The matches begin, barring delay, at 5 a.m. ET.  Williams and Garcia is the last match on the court, following Gael Monfils and Ernests Gulbis' round two match.
