A New Zealand fishing crew got the catch of the day--a small plane with a body inside.

Fishing for arakihi, orange roughy and other fish that live near the coast, the crew of the San Kawhai had their net in the water when they caught what is believed to be Auckland pilot Daroish Kraidy's missing 19-foot aerobatic biplane.

"Some features are consistent with the plane that was last piloted by missing Auckland man Daroish Kraidy," police said in a statement.

Soon after the discovery of the plane, police contacted the family of Kraidy.

Kraidy's wife, Judy, told TheJournal.ie that if the remains found are found to be her husband's, she will have them cremated and scattered in his favorite spot.

When she and her daughter first learned of Kraidy's disappearance, AP reported that they told Fairfaax Media that they believed his disappearance was deliberate since he had battled depression for years.

The plane was the only aircraft listed as missing by New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority.

The plane was last seen on March 25 when Kriady, 53, took off from Ardmore airfield near Auckland, as The Associated Press reports. Within minutes, his plane disappeared from the radar screens.

When the fishermen caught Kriady and his plane in their net today, AP reported that they transported the wreckage to police at a bay near Great Barrier Island, which is about 56 miles northeast of Auckland.

The Civil Avaitian Authority and a police disaster victim identification expert is due to carry out a detailed inspection "of the wreckage and its contents."
