At 17, having a boyfriend is the farthest thing from Chloe Moretz's mind.

In the new issue of FLARE Magazine, the "Carrie" actress said she believes she is too young to have a serious boyfriend, but also admits that it is "tough to fall in love" at her age. The actress told the magazine that she is too focused on her career to let a relationship distract her.

"It's a tough age to fall in love: people change so quickly," the actress said. "I don't want to have to feel like I have to watch my step, 'cause I'm 17 and I shouldn't have to."

The "Kick-Ass" actress, who has won Fans Favorite Actress Award in the 2014 Young Hollywood Awards, also believes that many of her friends who get into long-term relationships at a young age miss out on other aspects of life.

"I'm like, Dude, you're wasting away your entire high-school years, and now you're going to waste away your college years," she told the publication. "You're going to spend your entire life in a relationship and then you're going to get married...and then you're dead!"

She added: "So you lived your life in a relationship! That's not my style."

Like any teenage girl, the actress said she loves wearing anything "fun and interesting" and whatever she wears will be a piece of "walking art." She also advises people not to judge a book by its cover.

"People say don't judge a book by its cover but if someone wears a crazy outfit, they're automatically a crazy person," she said. "If you wear a tame outfit, you're automatically a prude. You can be whoever you want through what you wear."

Mortez has five movies that will be released this year, including "Clouds of Sils Maria," "If I Stay" and "The Equalizer," which also stars actor Denzel Washington.

The September issue of FLARE will be on newstands Aug.11.
