Marvel superhero fans could see a crossover with Season 2 of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Executive producer Maurissa Tanchareon hinted at a possible connection during an interview with TV Line.

"Everything is connected, sometimes more so than other times. Obviously Coulson was born out of the films, and we can only hope to have that sort of impact in the other direction, but right now, we're just trying to make everybody as cool and interesting as we can," she said.

Tanchareon also added that in order for the TV show and the movie to come together, Season 2 of "S.H.I.E.L.D." would have some milestones to reach.

"All of us aware of the moving parts at all times. With that said, there are many opportunities for planting things that... end up in other things. Let's put it this way: In the second season, there's definitely a milestone that everybody needs to hit," she added.

ABC is launching a spinoff of the SHIELD organization in a new series called "Agent Carter" with actress Hayley Atwell. "Agent Carter" will serve as a prequel-type and takes place in the 1940s when Peggy Carter started working with the covert SSR.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres its second season in September and "Agent Carter" will debut ion 2015. E! News recently shared some casting information and said fans will see more of Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) in Season 2 of "S.H.I.E.L.D."

"We love Cobie, we love the character, she's so great," Tancharoen told to E!.

"She fits really nicely on the show and has good chemistry with Coulson and the others," Jeffrey Bell added.

There will also be a new face on the upcoming season: "Xena" star Lucy Lawless. TV Line previously reported that the actress had signed on for an unspecified role.
