General Motors is recalling 700,000 more vehicles in the United States citing six safety issues but none of them involving faulty ignition switches.

General Motors, one of the largest automakers around the world, is raking up the recalled vehicles tally in the U.S. with more than 700,000 vehicles. The automaker announced six separate recalls affecting newer models of Chevrolet and Buick. Most safety concerns in the latest round of recalls on Wednesday include loose nuts and bolts or missing welds on the seats.

General Motors found itself in deep trouble after ignoring the faulty ignition switches in small cars. The issue came to light and resulted in lawsuits for the car maker. GM is still in the process of fixing the faulty switches in millions of vehicles. But that hasn't stopped the car maker from looking into other safety concerns in its cars so it can stop the US regulators from prosecuting the company.

"These recalls signify how we've enhanced our approach to safety," Jeff Boyer, vice president of Global Vehicle Safety, said in a press release, Wednesday. "We are bringing greater rigor and discipline to our analysis and decision making. If we identify an issue - large or small - that might affect the safety of our customers, we will act decisively."

The biggest recall is for 414,333 vehicles involving Chevrolet Camaro model year 2011-2012, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain model year 2010-2012, Buick Regal and LaCrosse model year 2011-2012 and 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX. GM said the affected models are being called back for a loose bolt that secures the driver and front passenger seat. The issue has been linked to one crash and three injuries. Drivers are advised against using the height adjuster until a fix has been applied.

Another recall includes 124,007 vehicles due to missing weld on the seats. The car dealers are likely to replace the lower seat track in less than one percent of the recalled vehicles but will inspect all the vehicles, regardless. The issue includes the company's best selling cars including 2014 Chevrolet Caprice, 2014 Chevrolet SS, 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado LD and HD, 2013-2014 Cadillac ATS, 2014 Cadillac CTS, 2014 Cadillac ELR; 2013-2014 Buick Encore; and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra LD and HD, according to the company's press release.

GM is also recalling more than 57,000 Chevrolet Impalas due to faulty power steering. Drivers will have manual control over the vehicle but the loss of power steering requires extra efforts while turning the vehicle. The company has identified the problem to be with a nut on the power steering control module that will be cleaned and the power steering control software will be updated. One crash was reported regarding loss of power steering but there were no injuries or fatalities.

Other recalls include 120,426 2011-2013 model year Buick Regal and 2013 model year Chevrolet Malibus that require bulb replacement in the turn signals and some 14 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon/Yukon Denali to fix the wrong retaining nuts in the roof carriers.

GM has recalled about 29 million vehicles worldwide since the start of this year, most of which about 25.7 million were in the US.
