Some of the cast on Fox's hit show "Sleepy Hollow" gathered at the Television Critics Association fall preview on Sunday (July 20) to dish about Season 2, and revealed that fans can expect a few new bad guys, some allys, and a couple of surprises for the Cranes.

Actor Tom Mison, who plays Ichabod Crane, told reporters that the second season will not slow down, so fans are in store for more crazy twists and turns.

"There's not really a shark to jump," Mison said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "In the pilot, we kicked the shark in its teeth."

So what else is in store for Season 2? Check out everything you need to know about "Sleepy Hollow" before it returns Sept. 22:

- Season 2 will include some type of battle, so get ready. "War has come into town. War can tear a town apart but also a family," said series co-creator Roberto Orci, TV Guide reports. "Can [Ichabod and Katrina] redeem their son or not?"

- Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod (Mison) will have some "real trust issues. We saw that Crane had betrayed Abbie's trust in redrawing the map to Purgatory," said Executive Producer Mark Goffman.

- Even though fans think there could be something brewing between Abbie and Ichabod, Goffman reminded everyone that "Crane is married and still hopelessly in love. That can't be forgotten. I really think it's interesting and fun that she has a relationship with a man but it's not romantic... Crane has become a family member."

- "Sleepy Hollow" fans will be introduced to some new bad guys including a twist on the Pied Piper, a succubus, a wendigo and "the kindred." Co-creator Alex Klutzman said the new characters will be a "manifestation of what our characters are actually going through. The inner demons are manifested as literal demons," TV Guide reports.

- A few human characters will be joining the mix including in new sheriff, Lena Reyes, who will "pose a lot of cool conflict with Crane and Abbie."

- Fans shouldn't expect to see Ichabod rise from the dead too soon. "It's been harder than we thought to get him out," said Goffman. "We spent so much time to get him in the ground. What we didn't want to do is just get him right out and make it feel easy."

- There's going to be some comic relief when Ichabod sees a chained pen at the bank for the first time, learns to drive and sees Abbie voting at a polling booth.

Season 2 of "Sleepy Hollow" returns Monday, Sept. 22 on Fox.
