Chandler Parsons's future with the Houston Rockets hinges on free agent Chris Bosh.  Parsons signed an offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks, giving Houston just three days to complete a deal with Bosh.

Parsons agreed to a three-year deal worth $45 million late Wednesday night with Dallas, per ESPN.  With the NBA moratorium ending on Thursday, the Rockets now have three days to match the Mavericks' offer or they lose Parsons.

The future of Parsons, a small forward whose 16.6 points per game were crucial for Houston, likely depends on Bosh.  Houston reportedly offered Bosh a max contract of $88 million over four years in hopes of luring the stretch-4 away from the Miami Heat.

Although ESPN's Chris Broussard reported Bosh is "seriously considering" Houston's offer, Bosh purportedly wants to stay in Miami if James returns.

"If James" aptly summarizes free agency 2014, and it will seemingly dictate Houston's next move.  While at least one report indicates Houston would try to sign both Bosh and Parsons, Houston appears more likely to sign one or the other.

That means the Rockets have three days to convince Bosh to leave Miami, which appears contingent on James's decision - a decision unlikely to come in the next three days.

If James does leave Miami, Houston appears to be the de facto destination for Bosh.  In addition to the hefty paycheck, Bosh would have a larger role in Houston's offense as a complement to star Dwight Howard: Bosh, who has an outside shot, can help space the paint and give Howard more room to work.

The Rockets already appear to be preparing for the loss of Parsons.  Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported Houston has spoken with free agents Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza and Paul Pierce.
