With official "50 Shades of Grey" movie casting news still up in the air, fans are left speculating who will land the leading roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. A new name has now been added to the list of potential hunks to play Grey.

Enstars is reporting that, Hugh Dancy, although not that well known in the U.S., is currently considered one of the hottest actors in the U.K. and has been catching the eyes of "Fifty Shades" fans.

He currently plays special agent Will Graham on NBC's highly anticipated show "Hannibal."

Even though the 37-year-old actor is older than Grey who is said to be in his late twenties in the book, fans believe Dancy has the rugged sex appeal needed to land the role and will have no problem attracting the female audience.

In order for the British actor to actually play the role of Grey he would have to get permission from his wife, actress Claire Danes who plays Carrie Matthison on "Homeland."

There are no fan-created Facebook pages for the actor but he is definitely creeping up the fan-favorite list.

Hughes was first introduced in 1998 on the TV series "Trial & Retribution" and also starred in the move "Ella Enchanted."

Other British hunks being eyed for the role Henry Cavill, Robert Pattinson, Alex Pettyfer, James McAvoy and Orlando Bloom. Top contenders for landing the role as Christian Grey are Ian Somherlalder and Matt Bomer.

Somerhalder recently caused a Twitter frenzy after he tweeted that he was in London rehearsing a script for a new movie. Almost immediately fans began to tweet the actor asking if he was there for the "50 Shades of Grey" movie.  Somerhalder has kept quiet what project he is currently working on.
