It's only been a month since ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" crowned their Season 18 winners, but rumors are already surfacing about which celebrities will compete for the Mirror Ball trophy in Season 19. According to Hollywood Life, ABC has their eye on soccer hunk Landon Donovan.

The 32-year-old L.A. Galaxy player didn't make the World Cup in Brazil but could be showing off his tango skills in the fall.

"They have wanted Landon forever on the show," a source told Hollywood Life. "Now that everyone is having World Cup fever and Landon was left off the team... they want him to win another trophy - the Mirror Ball trophy."

Reportedly, if Donovan decides not to compete on the dancing competition show, then ABC will "reach out to anyone from the U.S team that makes a name for themselves in the next month."

"They are putting the full court press on getting him this time," the source said. "They are very interested in making it finally happen. What better time than now?"

Pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his partner Meryl Davis consistently impressed the judges and fans and ultimately took home the coveted trophy in Season 18, beating out Candace Cameron-Bure and Mark Ballas, and Amy Purdy and Derek Hough.

"It's about the people who voted and called and stayed up overnight to vote. It's because of them that we have this trophy," Chmerkovskiy told US Weekly about the win.

Athletes tend to do really well on "Dancing With the Stars," and Olympic ice skater Davis wasn't the first professional player to take home the Mirror Ball.

NFL running back Emmitt Smith won Season 3 in 2006, speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno won Season 4, pro driver Helio Castroneves won in 2007, long-time Pittsburgh Steeler's player Hines Ward nabbed the trophy in 2011 and football star Donald Driver was crowned the winner in 2012.

Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" returns in the fall 2014.
