Rapper JayAre, from the group Cali Swag District, died on Friday, June 6 at the age of 25. According to MTV, JayAre (real name Cahron Childs) suffered from sickle cell anemia and was taken to the hospital on Thursday for unknown reasons.

While hospitalized he went into cardiac arrest and died, MTV reports. General Da Smoove, one of the members from Cali Swag District, confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, "Sickle cell took my brother away from me today."

"Rest in peace Jayare I'm gonna miss u forever... I will never get over this... but God got u... and I know You got me," he tweeted.

"With that being said I'm proud to know that with that disease he made the best of his life... I jus saw my bro literally fight for his life I told him 'I love you bro' hope'n he heard me," Smoove later added.

Yung, another member, also wrote about the death on Instagram.

"LORD! I no im not suppose to question you, but if it was cell phone in heaven Ill b texting you... Really all I ask, is why? Because I don't no what to do!... Sadly, JayAre is not the first member of Cali Swag District to die. In 2011, M-Bone was murdered in a random drive-by shooting. According to TMZ, the rapper was standing by his car in Inglewood, Calif. when a man drove down La Brea Avenue and opened fire.

At the time, detectives said M-Bone (aka Mante Talbert) was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The group is best known for their 2010 breakout song, "Teach Me How to Dougie." After M-Bones' death, the remaining members - Smoove, Yung and JayAre - released their debut album "The Kickback."

Earlier this year they released a mixtape titled "The District," which featured collaborations with Nipsey Hussle, Ty Dolla $ign, Waka Flocka Flame and Skeme.
