Three young children were electrocuted while swimming in an outdoor pool at a Florida apartment complex on Apr. 27. Hialeah Police released the video which shows several kids desperately trying to escape the water after something goes wrong.

According to CBS Miami, the children were swimming in a pool at the Palm West Garden apartment complex when the water was electrically charged. In the video, a little girl is seen touching a metal railing in the shallow end of the pool when she suddenly goes limp.

A man, believed to be her father, quickly jumps into action and pulls the girl out of the water getting shocked himself. As people realize something is wrong, the other children quickly start leaving the pool. Off to the side, a man is seen lifting a child over the edge of the pool onto the concrete.

As the pool empties, a man notices another body floating by the metal railing and rushes toward the pool to pull the child out. He too gets jolted by the electric current. According to CBS, following the incident the pool was drained and crime scene tape is still up.

ABC reports that all three children spent four days in the hospital and are doing fine. An investigation determined that a faulty pool pump caused the incident. Inspectors said unconnected ground wires were supposed to take the currents to the ground and away from the pool but they weren't working properly.

"I was in the pool and then the metal railing. I was swimming close to it and I felt a shock," 10-year-old Diego Cabrera said.

According to ABC, last month an electrical shock killed seven-year-old Calder Sloan while he swam in his family's backyard pool. In that incident, he was swimming with a friend when he was knocked unconscious by an electrical shock.

A neighbor performed CPR and the nanny called 911 but Sloan was not able to be saved. A medical examiner said the cause of death was due to a faulty pool light, ABC reports.
