Tori Spelling was reportedly told by doctors that she needs to have a major spinal operation but the actress is refusing to go under the knife. According to the Daily Mail, Spelling has been dealing with a painful cervical spine condition and needs surgery.

A source told the site that Spelling is refusing to listen to doctors because she thinks if she's out of commission it would only hurt her already shaky marriage to Dean McDermott.

"Tori has two disintegrated discs in her neck that have been causing her extreme pain," the source said. "Although doctors are telling her she risks doing permanent damage if she doesn't have the surgery, she feels she can't put her family and her responsibilities on the back burner long enough to have the operation."

Last month when she spent time in a hospital, her rep said it was because of a severe migraine. The Daily Mail reports that the migraine was due to her spine condition.

"The pain is so bad she has to take pain medication," the source told the Daily Mail. "But the longer she takes it, the more meds she has to consume in order to ease the pain. It's a vicious circle."

The source said the actress feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders and she doesn't think now is a good time to break from her responsibilities to get the surgery and recover.

"Torii feels a lot of pressure to bring money in right now," the source said. "She and Dean have been struggling and she knows how important it is for her to keep doing her ‘True Tori' reality series, and the new ‘Mystery Girls' sitcom she and her old friend Jennie Garth are doing for ABC's Family Channel."
