At least four Maryland residents were injured on Friday, after a crash in Harford County snarled traffic along I-95.

Maryland State Police told CBS' local station in Baltimore that a passenger bus crashed this afternoon near exit 89 in Havre de Grace.

All northbound lanes were shut down after the accident, and are still closed, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority's Twitter. Two left lanes have re-opened following a 4 p.m. closure, Fox News reported.

Officers were called to the scene of the accident at 3:39 p.m. Emergency Medical Services also responded as a precautionary measure.

The bus reportedly drove onto the shoulder and hit a guardrail. No other cars crashed along with the Megabus, CBS reported.

Megabus officials issued a statement shortly after the incident.

"Megabus.com is aware that an incident has occurred on Interstate 95 near Webster Village Maryland. We are currently working with local officials to gather the details of the incident," CBS reported Megabus as saying. "Safety is Megabus.com's number one priority."

Around 75 people were on the New York-bound bus at the time of the crash.

Four people who have not yet been identified were immediately transferred to Harford Memorial Hospital. Their respective states are currently unknown.

Shuttle vehicles worked to move passengers off of the highway while they waited for a stand-in bus to escort them for the final leg of the trip.

Traffic is still slow in both directions as of 5:30 p.m.
