Massachusetts police have arrested another suspected associate of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who currently faces first-degree murder charges.

Investigators took Oscar Hernandez Jr. into federal custody this week, according to the New York Daily News. A grand jury on Wednesday found Oscar, who is not related to Aaron Hernandez, guilty of witness tampering, lying under oath and obstruction of justice.

Oscar's indictment stated that he participated in trafficking firearms between Massachusetts and Florida. Three of the guns that police found at the scene of Odin Lloyd's murder were linked to Florida, the Daily News reported.

Following a probe conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at the behest of Massachusetts State police, officials found that all three of the firearms were purchased in the Sunshine State in April of last year.

Oscar Hernandez made his first court appearance in Orlando's U.S. District Court at 1:30 p.m. EST on Thursday. He's scheduled to stand trial once more in Massachusetts, where he will face the charges being brought against him.

Aaron Hernandez has been accused of shooting and killing Lloyd, who was fatally struck five times and left in a clearing at the industrial park in North Attleborough, Mass. Aaron and associates Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, face first degree murder charges, in addition to multiple weapons charges.

Aaron is currently in jail, and has pleaded guilty to all the charges. Dates for the three men's arraignments haven't yet been announced.

The ex-football player was reportedly being investigated this week for threatening to murder a correctional officer. Aaron allegedly made the threat after a guard stopped him from getting extra food from the jail cafeteria.

A fellow inmate said Aaron never threatened to kill the guard.
