AMC released the first poster from Season 5 of "The Walking Dead" and it shows Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) crouched down holding his gun. A one-word message is written across the top: "Survive."

It seems like surviving will play a big part in the upcoming season. The Season 4 finale ended with Rick and the others (minus Carol, Tyreese and baby Judith) trapped in a train car by a group of (supposed) cannibals.

Most of the main characters finally made it to Terminus only to find out that it was a trap. The show didn't reveal whether Terminus is actually the home of the cannibals but clues from the show hint that it could be. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Robert Kirkman dished on Terminus and the "new" Rick Grimes.

"Stay tuned for Season 5!... I think people are going to be pretty excited when we come back in season 5," Kirkman told EW. "We'll be revealing very quickly what it is that is going on and what it is Rick Grimes and everybody else are up against. We're not going to be keeping that close to the vest for too very long. So in our big season 5 premiere we'll get some answers."

Kirkman, who also wrote the "Walking Dead" comic books, said that fans will definitely see a more vicious Rick in Season 5. The finale featured a shocking scene where the group leader tore out Joe's neck with his teeth and gutted another man who was trying to rape his son, Carl.

"Rick Grimes' evolution has come at the exact right point. This is the Rick Grimes that they need in that train car. And this is the Rick Grimes that the people of Terminus should not have encountered," Kirkman told EW. "It is the exact wrong time for them to encounter this guy. So it is supposed to be a somewhat uplifting kind of cliffhanger because you should get a sense that this guy is now ready for anything. He can handle absolutely whatever the world is going to throw at him and that is something we're going to be exploring in Season 5."

Season 5 of "The Walking Dead" premieres in October.
