Sony executives said the company is bringing last year's award-winning PS3 title 'The Last of Us' to PS4 this summer with enhanced graphics and single-player DLC Left Behind.

Sony, one of the biggest electronics companies, will be making millions of its PS4 owners happy this summer. In an interview with Turkish website Multiplayer, PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun confirmed that last year's critically acclaimed title "The Last Of Us," which won several awards for different categories including Best New Action Adventure Game from Games, will be arriving on Sony's best-selling PlayStation 4 this summer. The information is yet to get a final confirmation by Sony.

According to IGN, which received a translated statement of Sulun from Multiplayer, the award-winning PS3-exclusive title will arrive in both physical and digital copies, packed with enhanced graphics. "The Last of Us" Left Behind, the single-player DLC will also arrive alongside, Sulun said.

"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically," Multiplayer quoted Sulun in a translated statement sent to IGN. "The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."

"The Last of Us" was originally launched in June of last year by developer Naughty Dog and published by Sony. The popularity of the title rose significantly, which honored the game with several Game of the Year awards. "The Last of Us" sold over 1.3 million units in the first week, second-biggest launch after Grand Theft Auto V. To date, the title has sold more than 6 million units worldwide.

Although, the expansion of "The Last of Us" may not give a significant push to the sales of Sony PS4 as the game already exists for PS3 owners,  it will engage more gamers and play a vital role in the development of high-graphics games that support the full power of modern hardware.

If "The Last of Us" makes it to the PS4 games library it will be the fifth AAA first party game including Infamous: Second Son, Driveclub, MLB 14: The Show, and The Order: 1886.
