Twitter is bringing Vine under its no-porn policy and h as warned users who post explicit content that their accounts will be suspended and a repeat offense would lead to a permanent ouster.

If you have posted pornographic content on Twitter's video sharing Vine app, chances are your account will be suspended. According to a revised Vine policy, posting explicit sexual content on the video-sharing service is banned and can lead to temporary or permanent suspension of the accounts based on the seriousness of the issue. The initiative to ban porn on social networks is already widespread with big companies like Facebook disapproving of porn on their sites and Twitter removing sexually obscene images from users' profiles.

Vine joined its parent company to limit posts with pornographic content. The video sharing app, which was launched January last year, was swamped with several explicit sexual posts requiring Twitter to take serious measures to put an end to the problem. The micro-blogging service has blocked certain hashtags on the site that lead to such content.

According to Vine's post, announcing the new change in policy Thursday, the service remains unchanged for most of the users. The company said that it does not have a problem with the sexual content available on the Internet, but was implementing the new policy to prevent being a source of it.

Vine is depending on its users to report any occurrence of violation of content. "If you see a video that violates our updated policy, you can report it by tapping the button with three dots below the post and selecting "Report this post"," Vine said.

Vine defined explicit sexual content as one that includes "depictions of sex acts, nudity that is sexually provocative or in a sexual context, and graphic depictions of sexual arousal." The new policy does not change the way users post nude content that is documentary, educational or artistic in nature. Videos of nude protestors, nude model posing in an art class, mother breastfeeding her child and clothed sexually suggestive dancing will still be allowed on the site.

Those who violate Vine's no-porn policy will face consequences. Initially, Vine will suspend the account of people who post sexually explicit content and restore only if the violating content is taken down. Additionally, if users repeatedly violate Vine's policy, accounts of such individuals will be suspended for good.
