A homeless man attacked actor Michael Stuhlbarg with a rock outside of New York City's Central Park.

A homeless man allegedly attacked a "Boardwalk Empire" actor near Central Park in New York City on Sunday night, according to a report. 

The victim was identified as Michael Stuhlbarg by the New York Post.

Xavier Israel allegedly threw the rock in a random attack around 7:45 p.m., according to the NYPD. Stuhlbarg was hit was hit by a rock in the back of the neck.

Stuhlbarg, a former Tony and Emmy nominee, chased Israel, 27, to the front of the Russian Consulate on East 91st Street. Two NYPD officers caught and arrested him there.

The attack reportedly happened a few miles from where his "Boardwalk Empire" character, Arnold Rothstein, was fatally shot.

Israel was previously arrested for two assaults and a robbery, the Post reported. He was out on bail at the time of Sunday's attack.

Stuhlbarg suffered a small bruise and said he didn't need any medical attention, according to the NYPD.

He is set to co-star in "Patriots," on Broadway with Will Keen. Previews were set to begin on Monday evening at 8 p.m.

Israel faces a new assault charge in connection with Sunday's attack.
