People being interviewed for jobs at the Republican National Committee are reportedly being asked if they believe the 2020 election was stolen.

The question is now being asked in interviews after a takeover by Trump-backed leaders, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

The paper cited unnamed sources that said prospective employees in key swing states are facing the questions. It is reportedly being used as a litmus test for hiring,  CNN reported.

Former President Donald Trump was unhappy with how the RNC and former Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel handled claims of election fraud around the 2020 race.

"Candidates who worked on the front line in battleground states or are currently in states where fraud allegations have been prevalent were asked about their work experience," RNC and Trump spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez said in a statement to media outlets.

"We want experienced staff with meaningful views on how elections are won and lost and real experience-based opinions about what happens in the trenches."

North Carolina GOP chairman Michael Whatley and Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump were elected to serve as the organization's new chair and co-chair with the former president's backing.

What Does Lara Trump Have To Say?

Lara Trump issued a warning of prosecution for anyone found "cheating in an election" after taking the job.

She said the committee has three pillars that they need to focus on. The first is to emerge victorious in the Nov. 5, 2024, election. The second is to protect the vote while the third is to raise money.

The former president has continued to make false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, even though widespread evidence of fraud has never been uncovered.
