While attending a friend's bachelor celebration in Baton Rouge in Louisiana over the weekend, a married father of two was fatally attacked in a heated bar brawl, based on relatives and authorities.

A Louisiana resident named Devin Michael Repath, 26, was rendered unconscious when he was struck during a physical altercation at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Saturday at Fred's Bar, located near LSU's campus, according to the Baton Rouge police.

Fatal Baton Rouge Bar Fight Under Investigation

Sadly, he did not survive his injuries and died away early on Tuesday morning. The police said that he was taken to a local hospital in serious condition; however, he did not survive his injuries.

According to a report from WAFB, the East Baton Rouge Coroner's Office said the cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was determined to be murder. The decision was reached after the investigation was completed.

A search for all of the persons who were involved in the crime that unfortunately resulted in the loss of life continues to be conducted by the police, who are currently reviewing surveillance footage . Considering this, there have been no arrests made as of yet.

"There are a lot of unknowns right now," said Hillar Moore, the district attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish, according to the station; Moore made the following statement.

It will be essential for us to wait and see what the data and proof reveal in order to come to at a decision on the appropriate verdict.

Bar Fight Victim Remembered

Chief TJ Morse of the Baton Rouge Police Department stated that the fight began inside the bar and then extended out into the parking lot at a press conference that was held apart from the incident that took place on Monday. It was said by The Advocate online that this information was available.

The family of Repath reportedly indicated that he was in town for a bachelor celebration, as reported by WAFB. As a result of his demise, he is survived by his wife and two young boys, as stated on a fundraising website that was established for the family in their time of grief.

In terms of a message that was posted on a GoFundMe website, "On behalf of both families, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time." Let's get together and pay tribute to Devin's legacy.

Although the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, the police have said that no arrests have been made. The family of Repath, on the other hand, has stated that the situation is being examined as a homicide, News 13 reported.
