Saudi Arabia currently has a set of humanoid robots, a male and a female, that match in appearance and have AI that is programmed to reflect the country's cultural norms.

The developer of the robot, Mohammed, disclosed that Sarah, the female counterpart, was designed to dismiss talks about politics or sex, just weeks after the male robot touched a woman's privates at its launch ceremony.

Saudi Arabia Launches Female Robot

Sara is an entirely new robot that was developed by QSS AI & Robots and has been launched by Saudi Arabia. noticed for her clumsiness, which is regarded an all too human attribute in close quarters, Sara is a female humanoid robot who is 25 years old.

It is well known that she has both of these qualities, and she is dressed in traditional Saudi clothing. However, because of the traditional cultural beliefs that are present in Saudi Arabia, it is quite possible that Sara is required to avoid from talking about things pertaining to sexuality.

As the outcome of Sara's use of artificial intelligence that was trained with a specific dataset, she is able to communicate with human clients in both Arabic and English effectively.

Muhammad, a humanoid robot that has been identified to be a male, was made open to the general public earlier this month. The making of the robot was a response to the criticism that followed his first appearance.

The unveiling of Muhammad was met with wide praise from the technological world as a demonstration of technical skill. But it also provoked heated comments on the internet because the robot was seen touching the back of a female reporter from Al Arabiya while she was attending the official ceremony, according to The New Arab.

Saudi Arabia's Male Robot Makes 'Inappropriate' Gesture

The "inappropriate gesture" that the first male robot of Saudi Arabia made at a live show caused a surge of outrage on social media. The video footage from the occasion showed the robot making improper contact with a female reporter and extending its hand toward her.

In response to the video, this resulted in a number of people taking to social media to express their displeasure. Rather than being the result of intentional misbehavior on the part of the artificial intelligence, the robot was supported by a number of users of social media, who indicated that the event may be connected to a programming decision or a malfunction rather than intentional misconduct on the part of the AI.

With the intention of serving as a flagship national program to highlight Saudi Arabia's advancement in artificial intelligence technology, this robot, which was built by QSS Systems and given the name Muhammad, was planned to serve as said program.

"I am Muhammad, the first Saudi robot in the form of a man," Muhammad said at the occasion of its unveiling at DeepFest. As part of a national endeavor to present the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's achievements in the field of artificial intelligence, I was engineered, built, and developed in the country, NDTV reported.
