Toxic common earthball mushrooms (Scleroderma citrinum, in German: Kartoffelbovist) grow in a forest near Schlachtensee Lake on August 15, 2011, in Berlin, Germany. The exceptionally rainy German summer has caused mushrooms of all types to flourish.

According to the Daily Mail UK, the beef Wellington with poison mushroom that Erin Patterson served killed three individuals; Gail and Don Patterson, as well as Gail's sister, Heather.

These Australians died earlier in August after having lunch at their daughter-in-law Erin Patterson's house in Leongatha, Victoria.

As of writing, Erin strongly denies allegations that she killed the three victims.

Now, an anonymous source coordinating with the police investigation claimed that one of the three Australians had a final conversation with the paramedic.

The paramedic said that it is necessary to inform the police about what the victim said before dying.

However, authorities haven't shared any specific detail about what the final conversation is about.

This new information was revealed as Erin Patterson faces accusations of killing the three Australians, which paint her as an "evil witch."

Tom May, a principal research scientist mycology at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne inspects a Death Cap mushroom as the Victorian Government issues a health alert on March 31, 2021 for poisonous mushrooms after favourable weather conditions have seen an outbreak of the mushroom which is extremely toxic and responsible for 90 percent of all mushroom poisoning deaths.

Global News reported that Erin Patterson, who prepared the lunch, was the only adult who didn't fall ill after eating the beef Wellington.

Aside from the three Australians, Heather Wilkinson's husband, Ian, also suffered greatly after eating the food with poisonous mushrooms.

The man is currently in critical condition as he waits for a liver transplant.
But, Erin Patterson denies all accusations against her.

"I'm devastated. I loved them. And I can't believe that this has happened and I'm so sorry," said Erin.

Det. Insp. Dean Thomas of the Victoria Police said that Erin was considered the main suspect in the homicide investigation. However, due to lack of evidence, she hasn't faced charges so far.

"We have to keep an open mind in relation to this. It could be very innocent," said the official.

"But again, we just don't know at this point.... Four people turn up and three of them pass away, with another one critical, so we have to work through this," he added.
