At least ten people die after a serious collision between a semi-trailer truck and a Handi-Transit vehicle near Carberry in southwestern Manitoba.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the crash happened on the Trans-Canada Highway 160 km west of Winnipeg. The crash involved multiple casualties, and the responding units included 14 critical care medical crew, two helicopters, and two planes from the STARS air ambulance service.

STARS spokesperson Blake Robert said the crash response was one of the service's biggest ever. "This is sort of in line with the similar large incidents that we responded to in the past, such as the tragedy with Humboldt Broncos, the incident in James Smith Cree Nation," he said.
