A Wisconsin mom was arrested after a dead newborn was seen in an open field early in the month. The infant's dead body was stuffed in a box to conceal the crime from authorities.

Wisconsin Mom Charged for Stuffing Dead Infant in a Box

A week before, the police took in Santos Asucena Caseres Cruz for charges of one instance of child neglect causing its death, attempting to move and bury the corpse from court papers, reported Law and Crime.

Based on the criminal complaint given to the Jefferson County Circuit Court concerning the case of infanticide. Officers of the Whitewater Police Department were called at 11 am last March 4 after someone had reported a dead baby seen at the Twin Oaks Trailer Park. More details say that 55 miles west of Milwaukee, the cops found a cardboard box several yards from the road. The dead infant was in a black garbage bag with a red cloth, noted TMJ4.

The investigators saw the baby wrapped in a blood-covered shirt, said a document. The umbilical cord is still there, with blood left on the body after birth.

Newborn Stuffed in a Box to Conceal Secret

Later, the corpse box was brought for analysis in the crime lab, where they established a lead. A shipping label was on the box, and got an ID on the recipient, called Witness 1.

Last March 24, Witness 1 informed his father that Witness 1's mother, Cruz was pregnant, due to an extramarital affair. The baby was aborted, according to his dad, cited Court TV.

Cruz, when interviewed by the police, said she denied pregnancy nor did she hide a newborn in the field. She claimed she was not harming a baby, called her ex-husband a liar, and was abusive. She gave a buccal swan and allowed the cops to scrape her car and home for any evidence.

Witness 2 (Cruz's child) said she stayed in the bathroom long because of stomach pain on January 27. The witness added that blood was everywhere and thought Cruz was hemorrhaging. Cruz later admitted she got pregnant but wanted to keep it secret. The father was someone else, and she feared her family would despise her.

A court document says the baby was alive but was left to die in hours when the child turned purple and never called 911 even after death. Letting the newborn die because her kids would not like what happened. Put the body in a box and get it at 4:30 am. Later took it to the trailer park about thirty minutes later.

The bond is $10,000, and Cruz will be in court on April 4. Police have the Wisconsin mom who tried to hide a dead newborn stuffed in the box and brought to the trailer park.
