LeBron James made a surprising return to hard court action on Sunday, but that does not mean he's fully recovered, as he may need to have his injured foot evaluated again.

LeBron James made his surprising return to the Lakers lineup on Sunday, in a matchup against the Chicago Bulls.

The media had predicted LeBron James would return in the last week of the season, but the Lakers leader returned within more than half of the remaining games, an indication of how much the 38-year-old nvests in his physique to be on top of his game.

LeBron attributed his early return to the efforts of the "LeBron James of feet", and he did return several weeks earlier than usual for someone with his injury, according to Silverscreen and Roll.

However, his early Sunday return does not indicate that his health has fully recovered. LeBron James told reporters after the game that he may still require surgery this offseason.

LeBron James noted he does not know if he needs the surgery. "I'll probably get another MRI at the end of the season and go from there. But if I get it, if I end up having to get surgery, you guys won't know. I don't talk to you guys in the offseason and by the time next season start, I'll be fine and ready to go," he said, per ClutchPoints.

The Lakers Are Doing Good Despite LeBron James Injury

Injuries have forced James to come and go from the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. His tendon injury occurred more recently, on February 26, in a game against the Dallas Mavericks, which they won.

Despite LeBron James injury in the last 13 games, the Lakers went 8-5, which is about typical. With a 37-38 record, they are now ninth in the Western Conference and fighting for a playoff berth, according to Bleacher Report.

James led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points against a tenacious Bulls defense in 30 minutes of playing time coming off the bench. He also showed off some nice bursts of quickness. Though, it was not enough to win the game. The Bulls won 108-118.
