Jansen Panettiere, the younger brother of Hayden Panettiere, has passed away at 28.

Jansen Panettiere, the younger brother of Hayden Panettiere, passed away at the age of 28.

Jansen, a graffiti artist who often shared his work on Instagram, passed away on Sunday, February 19, at his home in Nyack, New York, according to a police report on Tuesday, February 21.

Jansen Panettiere Cause of Death

According to the report, a friend went to check on Jansen after he missed a business meeting and found him "sitting upright in a chair, unresponsive," according to the report. A friend of Jansen dialed 911.

After doing CPR, first responders pronounced him deceased. The report also said that "no visible trauma symptoms" were present. Per US Weekly, Alan 'Skip' Panettiere, the father of Jansen and Hayden, arrived at the scene and informed police that he spoke to his son the night before and Jansen "sounded OK."

Currently, the cause of his death remains unknown. The 'Nashville' actress's brother reportedly suffered from anxiety and depression. According to Daily Mail sources, Hayden is devastated by Jansen's passing.

"Hayden is inconsolable," the insider claimed. "Recently, his career has been difficult, and he has been pulled into many different places. He was her only sibling and dearest friend. He was such a wonderful person, yet he lived dangerously."

Three of Jansen's friends, named as Benjamin Brown, Joe Fails, and Lars Arianti, became "concerned" after he failed to appear at a scheduled meeting.

When EMTs arrived at his residence, Jansen was discovered "lying on his back on the living room floor, barely breathing, and livid with shock" when EMTs arrived at his residence. A Nyack EMT declared him dead on arrival, as per Meaww.

Who is Jansen Panettiere?

The late actor followed in his sister's footsteps in the entertainment industry, beginning his career in the early 2000s on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. According to IMDb, Jansen began his career in 2002 with a guest appearance on Even Stevens.

Two years later, Hayden, then 33, voiced the cat Periwinkle on Blue's Clues and landed the role of Joey in the Disney Channel Original Movie Tiger Cruise. During the decade, the 'Hope & Faith' alum continued to provide his voice to several children's shows, including his role as Truman X on Patrick Warburton's cartoon 'The X's.'

In 2006, he won a voiceover part as Shovelmouth Boy, a juvenile elephant, in the wildly successful animated comedy 'Ice Age: The Meltdown.' The following year, Jansen landed the most significant role of his career in the Nickelodeon original film 'Last Day of Summer.'

His final parts were in the films 'Bart Bagalzby' and 'Garbage Genie' and Love and Love Not, both released in 2021 and 2022, respectively. According to his Instagram account, Jansen was largely focused on his artistic profession until his passing. 'The Fog' actor frequently posed for photographs of his artwork, which he mainly created with spray paint to produce vibrant graffiti-like abstract art.

Jansen was five years younger than his sister, yet he followed her into the spotlight as a child actor. According to Yahoo, he co-starred with his sister in Disney's Tiger Cruise and Racing Stripes.

Jansen is survived by his parents, former soap actress Lesley Vogel and New York fire officer Alan Lee 'Skip' Panettiere, and his renowned sister Hayden. In addition, he is survived by his long-term girlfriend, Catherine Mitchie, whom he photographed on Instagram days before his death.
