A 7-year-old Louisiana girl got killed by a vicious pit bull in a fatal attack due to the owner's neglect.

Negligent Owner Allowed Vicious Pit Bull To Roam

The young Louisiana girl got mauled mercilessly by a pit bull, with the owner getting arrested after the victim died from the attack, reported The Blaze.

At approximately 6:35 p.m., Sadie Davila, a first-grader, had been playing outside a relative's residence last Friday when a pit bull "ruthlessly" savaged her, based on the arrest affidavit. A relative on the scene had tried to save the child from the vicious beast by hitting the dog with a cane, but it was not enough. It did not stop the animal from killing Sadie.

The dog belonged to a neighbor approximately 150 yards away from Sadie's playground. As stated in the arrest report, there were no barricades in the yard to keep the pit bull confined.

She was rushed to the local hospital but died from the horrible wound inflicted on her. Medical staff gave the grim report to investigators that the animal's maw and savage bites were terrible. The dog bit her face and crushed her skull while mauling the girl dead.

The mom of the slain child said that her baby was dead. She added that the family is shattered, including the ones who caused it will pay for what happened.

The Advocate reported that the father of the victim, Mikey Davila, wrote, "RIP my sweet Sadie Elizabeth, 7 years old & taken from us in the most violent way. The world is a cruel place. You were the light in my heart."

As said by East Baton Rouge Schools Superintendent Sito Narcisse, Sadie was getting underway in her life and the education that should have been hers. It is difficult to grasp her family and friends' grief and deep regret; the tragedy is insurmountable, citing KSLA.

Her first-grade teacher, Grace Feucht, said she was intense, feisty and also tender-hearted, and warm-hearted. Each time she came in the door, she brought energy and joy to the class. Very was fearless and would undertake wholehearted songs before a group of her fellow students.

East Baton Rouge Animal Control officers located and caught the dog later that evening. Based on the affidavit, this same pit bull seemed to have blood around its face and mouth. A "substantial" quantity of blood was noticed in the yard where Sadie played.

Daniel Piatkiewicz, the animal control director of East Baton Rouge, stated that the beast was euthanized on the night the girl had passed away.

The dog's owner, Erick Lopez, has been apprehended and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison since last Saturday, as said by East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office stated that he got charged with negligent homicide. He told the police the dog attack happened when he was not home, and he usually let the dog roam the neighborhood. Investigator says it is his fault the dog got loose and killed the girl on another property.
