The two presidential candidates of France just paid their respects to Xavier Jugelé who was killed last Thursday in a terrorist attack in Paris. With this, the two presidential contenders are also expressing their differing views when it comes to the implementation of security in the country.

Last week, France just lost one of its bravest men when Jugelé was killed and was shot dead in Champ Elyseés. This incident triggered upset and grief from the French people that even President Hollande condemned the act. Because of that, the current president called for unity in the midst of the terrorist attack as per BBC News.

It was reported that Xavier Jugelé was a staunch supporter of gay rights or the LGBT rights. According to his colleagues as well as her friends, he was a very committed policeman. It can be recalled that he was one of the officers who responded when the Bataclan concert hall was attacked by terrorist last 2015.

Reports claimed that Xavier Jugelé was a policeman since 2010 and was admired by many people more so in his work as per The New York Times. But last week, he met his demise when a gunman opened fire at them killing him and wounded some of his companions. He was in a police vehicle when the incident took place.

The terrorist attack in Paris was claimed by the Islamic State after the incident. The culprit was also shot dead as he tried to escape. Then last Friday, Xavier Jugelé was mourned by friends and his colleagues in the service.

As the presidential pay respects to the officer, they also contend on how France should implement strict security measures. According to Marine le Pen, the government of France needs to introduce tight border security and even suggested that the country should deport all foreigners who are suspected as terrorists.

It was also made known that Xavier Jugelé had been already aware of the threat of terrorism and the risk of his job but he did not mind it. Because of this, he gained the admiration of his co-workers apart from the two France presidential candidates.
