MTV is gearing up to produce a brand-new television series of the hit horror film, "Scream".

The cable network announced at the Beacon Theatre on Thursday, plans for a TV-adaptation of the gory film franchise.

According to CBSNews.com, director Wes Craven is slated to direct the one-hour pilot for MTV. The new show has a debut season of summer 2014.

During the special event held for advertisers in New York, MTV also announced renewal of "Snooki & JWOWW". The third season has been green lit to follow best friends Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWOWW" Farley.

Improv comedy favorite, "Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out" will also re-appear on MTV2 on July 9. Cannon and his famous comedic friends are coming back to MTV to provide lots of laughs.

A new docu-drama ready to air on the network is "Generation Cryo". The one-hour drama takes a look into the lives of kids who were conceived through anonymous sperm donors. Breanna, one of the show's cast, finds out via the Donor Sibling Register website that she has at least 15 half-siblings by her father. The show will document Breanna's journey of connecting with her half-brothers and sisters.

MTV is also adding "The Hook Up", "Guy Court", and "Nurse Nation" to its TV mix. "The Hook Up" is a dating show where a contestant gets to choose from four suitors based on their social media lives.

"Guy Court" is a spinoff of the ever-popular "Guy Code" and will premiere during the fall of 2013. The show will take hilarious cases to court and find out whether the plaintiffs or defendants are guilty for breaking the laws of manhood.

The docu-series "Nurse Nation", will follow nine nurses during a 13-week period, as they travel from coast-to-coast for work. Cameras will follow each nurse as they try to balance working hard and playing even harder. The show's release date has not been announced.
