The CW's supernatural drama series, The Originals, is announced to premiere its new season next year. Fans have missed the series since its last airing on May this year, and can't help but get excited on the events that will happen once the new season premieres.

Fans have also been hoping that the new upcoming season will not be its last. According to Mobile N Apps, the show's creator and executive producer, Julie Plec, have been hinting on renewal and a few more seasons after Season 4. Because of this, viewers of the series are positive that the upcoming season will be followed by more.

It has also been speculated that the show's sister series, The Vampire Diaries, also known as TVD, will be doing something a little different after its season finale, which includes a crossover to The Originals.

While it is sad for TVD fans to know that the supernatural series' current season is indeed its last, The Originals, which was originally released as a spin-off to the series, will be airing right after the release of TVD's finale episode.

According to Christian Today, Season 8 will be the last season for The CW's original series. But fans should not be worried as some of the characters of the series will reportedly be appearing on the spin-off. Rumors have it that the survivors on the finale will be migrating to New Orleans and set to join the Mikaelsons (main protagonists for The Originals).

It was also reported that Matt Davis' character, Alaric Saltzman, will be a pivotal character on the show. He will reportedly be dropping on New Orleans for a mission, which includes a meeting with Daniel Gillies' character Elijah Mikaelson.

According to several reports, the producer have not revealed on the fate of the characters on TVD, but Plec had reprotedly revealed that she will not kill off some characters. So, fans can start hoping that they will still see their favorite characters on the spin-off.

The finale episode for TVD is reported to air on March 2017 as well as the first episode premiere of The Originals Season 4
