Sacramento Kings' forward Rudy Gay has been in the NBA trade rumors for the past few months. And it seems that rumors will not leave him behind as it continues to haunt him even the regular season already reached its first month. New reports are saying that he might be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Jamal Crawford before the trade deadline.

Gay has openly declared that he will leave the Kings after the season and become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The reason is simple. He is not satisfied how the Kings organization managed the team and the desire to be in a contender team was also been a priority for him. Many teams have shown interest in him but it appears that the Clippers is the best fit for him.

Earlier reports also hinted that Kings is seriously considering to trade Gay rather lose him as a free agent in the offseason and get nothing in return. According to iTech Post, a proposed trade deal is being suggested to the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings. A direct swap between Kings' power forward Rudy Gay and Clippers' shooting guard Jamal Crawford is looming and might happen before the February trade deadline.

The report also says that Gay will immediately give an impact on the offense of the Clippers. Gay is averaging 19.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 16 games he has played this season. He is also a versatile player who can post up down low and with a deadly touch from outside (shooting 41.2% in the three-point zone).

On the separate report by Ecumenical News, though it might be impossible to give up Crawford that easy, a talented player like Gay is really hard to pass up since he is also performing very well for the Kings right now. Gay might not start for the Clippers but having him coming off the bench is not a bad idea as he will boost the Clippers' bench production.

As for the Kings, Crawford will surely give them a proven sixth man on their roster having won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year 3 times already. He will also be bringing in his 16-year-experience in the league that could be a big help to mentor the young core of the Kings.

Nevertheless, this NBA trade rumor is still a speculation and none of the teams involve have confirmed it. Will Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers agree to swap Rudy Gay and Jamal Crawford before the trade deadline?
