The Minnesota Timberwolves continues to struggle at the start of the regular season. Many pundits are saying that they should make a move and try to acquire high-caliber players in the market to salvage their season. Rumors are suggesting that they should try to make a deal with the Sacramento Kings to acquire DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay.

Both Cousins and Gay are regular names in the rumor mills for the past few months. Gay has already expressed his decision to leave the Kings after the season while Cousins could be on that way also once he becomes a free agent in 2018. Both players have the same sentiments about their disappointments with the Kings current situation and future.

Now, a proposed deal is being suggested to the Kings and Timberwolves that could solve their problems and could also be a win-win situation for both of them. Trade scenario is suggesting that the Sacramento Kings will send DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, Gorgei Deing, Nikola Pekovic and a 2017 first-round draft pick.

The trade deal will work under the NBA trade rule and salary cap policy as per checking with ESPN NBA Trade Machine making it legal deal and will be approved by NBA league official. Some say that the deal is beneficial for both teams by further examining the trade.

The Timberwolves will get huge upgrade having Cousins and Gay in their fold. They will form a formidable starting five of point guard Ricky Rubio, shooting guard Andrew Wiggins, small forward Rudy Gay, power forward Karl-Anthony Towns and center DeMarcus Cousins. It also makes sense for the Timberwolves to give up LaVine and Dunn to unload their overcrowded backcourt as they still have Tyus Jones and John Lucas III.

Same goes to the Kings, who also have a congested frontcourt in their roster. Without Cousins, they can work their rotation with Willie Cauley-Stein, Kosta Koufos, Georgios Papagiannis and Skal Labissiere. Aside from that, acquiring LaVine and Dunn will give them potential superstar that can help them fast track their rebuilding process plus a possible a higher pick in the 2017 Draft that was included in the package.

Will the Minnesota Timberwolves be able to acquire DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay from the Sacramento Kings?
