After a blowout home loss on opening night against the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors were nearly perfect. They went on to win 8 of their last 9 games. Their lone defeat came into the hands of the young Los Angeles Lakers.

During that span, Stephen Curry's streak of consecutive games with a three-point field goal stopped at 157 games. Kevin Durant also snapped his consecutive games of 20-point games at 72 games, tied for 4th longest such streak with Michael Jordan. And in a game against the Pelicans, Stephen Curry made 13 three-point field goals which is an NBA record for most threes made in a game.

Despite the Warriors' dominance, Klay Thompson is quite struggling to get his usual production. Last season, he averages 22.1 points per game which is a career high. But with the addition of Kevin Durant, his scoring production this season declined to 18.8 points per game. Did Kevin Durant's presence affected his scoring performance or is it just because he was just really struggling?

But Klay Thompson's recent struggles have sparked speculations of him being traded. One of the latest rumors is a three-team seven-player deal.

According to HNGN, Klay Thompson will be sent to Indiana Pacers together with Jabari Parker of the Milwaukee Bucks. The Golden State Warriors will get John Henson and Khris Middleton of the Bucks and Monta Ellis of the Pacers. Paul George will be playing with the  Bucks together with Zasha Pachulia of the Warriors.

This trade rumor is quite complex. So for this article, let's take a look at a much simpler context. How about trading Klay Thompson to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Paul George? Let's take a look at the possibility.

The Warriors are having no problems with the offense. They are first in the NBA with 116.4 points per game. But what the Warriors lack is defense as they are averaging 108.2 points allowed per game which is tied with Nuggets and Sixers for 22nd in the NBA. Usually, the Warriors just won games by using their offensive power.

With this in mind, having Paul George on the Warriors' roster will strengthen their defense because George is known for his defense. He is an NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2014 and a 2-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

And if Klay Thompson will be playing for the Indiana Pacers, he will be the main offensive player. Thompson is a very gifted shooter but played most of his career in the shadow of 2-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry. Maybe it's time that Thompson will be given a star player role.

But according to Inquisitr, the Warriors will not likely to trade Thompson or any other key players early this season. Aside from that, Indiana Pacers are also determined to keep Paul George on their roster.

This trade is close to impossible to happen. Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
