"The Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder and wife Nikki Reed are in the rumor mills lately for numerous divorce talks.

As per GameNGuide, Ian blamed the "Twilight" actress for his failing career. It's been speculated that he regretted his decision to break up with his "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev when he married Nikki Reed.

Since breaking up with Dobrev and marrying Reed, Ian gets less and less endorsement and projects. Something that is currently sending him into depression.

However, another report by People denied the divorce rumors while saying that he exited TVD to create and produce more stories with wife Nikki Reed.

As per Ian, after spending nearly a decade on TVD, he wanted to put their energies together into other stuff.

The actor has announced earlier this year that Season 8 of "The Vampire Diaries" will be his last.

He said that his departure from TVD feels like an end of a very cool era, making it hard for him to shoot that last episode.

Ian and Nikki married in April 2015 and ran a production company, Rare Birds, under Warner Brothers.

According to People, Ian believed that this merging of professional and personal life together with Nikki has only made their relationship stronger.

When it comes to the question of expanding their family, Ian said, "It's just about scaling down. You have to manage; you can only do so much at one time. Once I'm not on set for 15 hours a day, five days a week that frees up a lot of time. I'm excited about it!"
