Smart users can bank on the Google Nexus 5 as among the best Android smartphones. There is a regular update even today, and if you would like use the Android 7.1 operating system without investing in a Google Pixel, then go for the Nexus 5.

The latest Euclidean ROM is based on the Android Nougat features discovered in Google Pixel devices. Being full of interesting, rich features, it would make any Nexus 5 owner happy during weekdays.

How can you download the ROM?

Download the USB drivers for the Nexus 5 on your computer. First, move to Menu > Settings > Applications and start the USB debugging. Is your Nexus 5 rooted?

You could install a TWRP or CWM recovery tool just to be cautious and have a back-up in case something flips or go wrong.

Now install the Euclidean ROM

Connect the Nexus 5 to a computer with a USB cable. You can copy the downloaded ROM files to the SD card, says WCCFTECH.

You need to remove the Nexus 5 and power it off, then boot into recovery mode. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together.

How will you reset your device? You can do it from the TWRP/CWM menu. Move to Wipe > Factory Reset and shift to the next step.

Return to the recovery menu and hit the Install button. Look out for the Euclidean ROM from the SD card where the firmware was taken from. Click Confirm to begin your installation.

That would do the trick. You can now watch Android 7.1 Nougat begin to power Nexus 5.

Now restart the device and get ready to enjoy the latest avatar.

While Android 7.1 is the best version of Google Pixel, it is not clear whether it will get along with Nexus 5.
