Apple and Microsoft are fighting a fierce war for supremacy in the world of modern technology. So far, Apple's design has been cutting edge, had set standards in the industry and had a better marketing than Microsoft,  which has always been lagging behind on both of those fronts.

However, since Bill Gates's company unveiled its first ever desktop computer, Surface Studio, Microsoft is looking better than ever and more than ready to tackle the challenging opponent like Apple.

Since the official announcement of the Surface Studio and Windows 10 Creators Update plus all of the 3D content creation brought with it, things have changed. People will become feeling something they probably haven't felt in years - the need to buy a Microsoft product.

After Microsoft beating Apple at its own game with this Surface Studio video, they certainly won't give up the spotlight too easily. The company's throwing a little shadow the MacBook Pro's way with a trade-in program that lets users "trade up to pen and on-screen touch."

Fundamentally, Microsoft is offering MacBook Pro owners $650 for a Surface Pro or Surface Book 2, if they trade in their Apple laptop.

Sure, it's all marketing, but it's the sort of gag that gives the company opportunity to showcase its perceived advantages over Cupertino as Microsoft is looking to appeal more and more toward creatives - a category long dominated by Apple.

According to Microsoft, "97-percent of people that have a Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book use on-screen touch input regularly," a metric is more than happy to point out as Apple continues to avoid touch on its own computers.

Apple is going with a different approach by creating another input method in the form of the new Touch Bar which sits between the display and keyboard on the new MacBook Pros.

The trade-in of Apple Macbook Pros for Surface Studio or Surface Book 2 starts on November 10th at Microsoft's retail and online stores in the US.
