The up and coming Dark Souls III DLC expansion, called "Ashes of Ariandel," is coming closer to an early release, which is going to be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 25, 2016. The expansion will feature a whole new area that would help expand on the Dark Souls III story. New enemies, weapons, magic spells, challenges, and more are also featured. The expansion will also introduce an all-new competitive multiplayer mode.

Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel: There will be two boss battles available

"It's a kind of spoiler, but there will be two boss battles in the DLC," Hidetaka Miyazaki said. "Similar to the base game, there will be big changes during each boss battle." Miyazaki also said that there would be loads of other amazing content in the DLC, including 15 new weapons, four new spells, and four armor sets.

Bandai Namco has just recently released a new full trailer for Dark Souls III's first expansion, Ashes of Ariandel. The trailer is fully focused on the expansion's new PvP feature, with the trailer inviting players with the catchy quote: "embrace the darkness...together." "Players will find themselves surrounded in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, brand new challenges, and surprising lore that will expand the comprehensive Dark Souls III storyline," Bandai Namco explained when it officially announced Ashes of Ariandel.

Due for its official launch on October 25, Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel is going to the first of two DLC expansions that are being planned for the Dark Souls III series. The game will cost $15 on PS$, Xbox One, and PC. The game's season pass will also be included for $25. The second expansion is expected to be released early in 2017.
