Spotify has finally reached Japan after years of waiting. The country, a big market in music industry, announced the "freemium" that will provide Japan's music lovers access to local and international songs.

As reported byitechpost.com, Spotify Daniel Ek said they were all excited to experience the unique music of the Japanese people.

"We're completely committed to growing the Japanese music ecosystem and making sure all the brilliant artists out there get paid fairly for their art," he said.

Spotify is now the biggest driver of growth for the music industry globally and we're extremely proud of that. The highlight of the launched of Spotify is when consumers can now view the lyrics of the song on their smartphones or desktops. It is superb strategy since Japan is popular for its karaoke so users can sing along.

Japan is the first country to get Spotify Lyrics for only 980 Yen on ad-free music service.

Featured in theverge.com, Spotify's new lyric will be available by invites only, consumers will need to be invited in order to have the playlist in their Spotify profile. Users can also go to the website of Spotify and request for an invitation to access its 40 million songs.

Spotify will compete against Japan's Line Music, Awa and other music app like Google Play and Apple Music. On the other hand, Sony will introduce Spotify to its PlayStation Music service on PS3 and PS4.

Adding Japan in the service, Spotify already reached 60 regions across the globe with more than 100 million users.
