Chris Jericho is among the famous wrestlers WWE has ever produced. He began his career at WCW before Vince McMahon noticed him and signed him to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) - now the WWE.

He earned his superstar status when he fought and beat the likes of Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H. Later he nicknamed himself as Y2J, referring to himself as the "savior of the WWF." And now, after almost 17 years in the wrestling business, rumors are spreading that Y2J is going to hang his boots for good.

According to The Inquisitr, this year's Hell in a Cell will probably be the last time fans will see Y2J step in the WWE ring.  That will be sad news for WWE fans because Y2J is known to inject life to any WWE event he's in. He has been in the same situation a few months ago when reports said that WWE Summerslam will be his last, but it never happened.

The same report also said that Jericho will wrestle until early 2017 but could be gone after WrestleMania 33. But Y2J had a great run ever since he came back in January 2016. He's been in every WWE event, from Royal Rumble to WrestleMania 32, up to the recently-concluded Clash of Champions.

But WWE's management is looking for a possible one last run for Y2J for the Universal Championship, as per the report of Christian Post. He's been rumored to be put in a match against Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins for that competition's title belt. It's odd to see the match because Jericho has been Owen's friend who he helped defend against Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions.

Nevertheless, this remains a speculation and there's no confirmation yet. Jericho's fun acts and idiotic exploits are what fans will miss about him if the rumor is true. Many claim that Y2J will concentrate on his band, Fozzy, after his so-called retirement. But if this is certain, the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla will surely be a Hall of Famer in the industry.
