Over the past few seasons, the Los Angeles Lakers are focusing their attention on developing their young core players as they are currently in a rebuilding process. But rumors say that D'Angelo Russell might be traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Greg Monroe and Jabari Parker.

After Kobe Bryant's retirement last season, the Lakers is focusing now on developing their young core players in the hopes that one of them may flourish to carry the franchise. Young talents like Julius Randell, Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell are the likeliest candidates. But according to Inquisitr, a rumored trade involving Russell in exchange for the Bucks' for Monroe and Parker may be in the cards.

In terms of NBA trade rumors circulating around the league, there are those deemed possible to happen. But there are also rumors that can be dismissed quickly. And as per Inquisitr, a trade involving Russell looks one that's quite impossible to happen since it wouldn't be permitted under NBA's trade and salary cap restrictions.

The Lakers improved quite a bit during the offseason under new head coach Luke Walton. Aside from that, they signed key veterans in their line-up like Luol Deng, Timofey Mozgov, and Yi Jianlian. Moreover, the Lakers may not need a player like Monroe in their line-up because they are already loaded with big men like Mozgov and Jianlian. Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. both look to earn some minutes as well. So on paper, adding Monroe may not make much sense since the Lakers do not need a frontcourt player.

Meanwhile, many expect Russell to rise up this coming NBA season. Drafted as the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, his performance last year left many disappointed. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 rebound, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game last season and only managed to make it to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. But with Bryant's departure, Russell is expected to be one of the stars in a Lakers uniform as Yibada reported.
