When President Barack Obama has a little free time he likes to relax and catch up on some of his favorite TV shows. According to The New York Times, the President is a huge fan of shows like HBO's Game of Thrones" and "Boardwalk Empire." He also likes to watch Netflix's "House of Cards."

It was previously revealed that President Obama enjoys watching "Homeland" on Showtime. In an interview last year with The Jonathan Ross Show, actor Damian Lewis (who plays Nicholas Brody) said that he signed a copy of a "Homeland" DVD set and included a little joke for the President.

"Claire Danes had written something really lovely and sweet saying, 'I was a fan of yours before you were a fan of ours,'" he said. "I went, 'From one Muslim to another' in an indelible Sharpie. I couldn't take it back."

He told Men's Journal that he immediately regretted the joke but President Obama's White House press secretary Jay Carney told him the President loved the joke.

The President is also said to be a fan of "Breaking Bad" and is reportedly catching up on Season 5 so he always warns people around him not to spoil it for him. The one show noticeably missing from his list of favorites is ABC's drama "Scandal," which is said to be a must-watch of former President Bill Clinton.

According to The New York Times, he also likes "The Wire," which he dubbed as one of the "greatest shows of all time" and is an avid sports fan. When his family finds the time to watch TV together he told TV Guide that they usually watch "Modern Family" and "Parks and Recreation" because "they give us a good laugh."

So what does the President's TV choices reveal about him? That he's just like everyone else except with a lot more responsibility.
