Conor McGregor has signed on to star in "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." The video game, which is due to release on November 04 this year, will star the UFC Welterweight Champion, who defeated Nate Diaz in a brutal rematch at UFC 202.

"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington is also included in the cast. The MMA fighter is temporarily leaving the octagon to play as a featured character in its upcoming installment. He'll be the first MMA fighter to be cast in a franchise's game.

According to ESPN, there was a time when playing Call of Duty was a staple of Conor McGregor's regimen. He wakes up, goes to the gym and train for two to three hours. Upon coming home, he plays Call of Duty: Black Ops II and goes to sleep when his girlfriend leaves for work.

And now that the Irish fighter is a hook to do the "game", he'll experience it in a whole new way. He'll play a marine in the story that will also feature Seth Green, Paul Reubens, David Hasselhoff and others.

It should be interesting to see how McGregor will fare as an actor since charisma in a sport doesn't always translate into other areas of entertainment, according to Rickey.org. It could be a great opportunity for Conor to silence critics, saying he's just escaping to defend his featherweight title before the year's end.

Unlike many other UFC fighters, adding gaming to McGregor's list of brand is also an opportunity for cross-promotion. His growing list of sponsorships include Bud Light, Monster Energy, Reebok, and Universal Studios, among many others.

Previous "Call of Duty" sets record-breaking grossed. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 grossed $550 million in three days opening while Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 grossed $500 million in just 24 hours.

Until now, there's no official word whether McGregor will appear in UFC 205's set on November 12. But if he doesn't, he'll most likely appear at UFC 207 on December 30 in Las Vegas.
