"At the end of the day, I know my worth. I know how good I can play. I know that with hard work hopefully I can get back there," Wozniaki has told reporters.

The comeback has emerged when she was down 4-0 in the first round and was a break point away from going down 5-0. The 5'50" blond is moving on to the third round for the first time since 2013.

A couple of years ago, after reeling from an over publicized split from golfer Rory McIlroy, Wozniaki has shown a return to form with a second US Open final. She has completed the season months later.

This time around, she looks forward to another long stay at Flushing Meadows. However, it remains to be seen if the Dane can offset her ankle and arm injuries.

In June, Wozniaki has been upset by Monica Puig at the Eastbourne International as the Puerto Rican tennister rallied to win a third round match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The former champion, who won the title in 2009, has been struggling to regain form after missing the entire clay-court season with a right ankle pain. The Danish tennis star has just won three tournaments since her return.

Before breaking off with McIlroy, Wozniaki talked about retiring from tennis to raise a family. After the unfortunate split, she rededicated herself to her game, won the Istanbul Open then became a losing finalist twice in the US Open and WTA Championships to Serena Williams.

After finishing 2014 at number 5, she steadily slid down to number 17. Last January, the Danish professional star has been booted out in the first round by number 76 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan, 1-6, 7-6, 6-4.
