Taylor Swift is a regular attendee in music awards especially in the highly anticipated Video Music Awards (VMA). Just last year, she bagged the Video of the Year Award in MTV VMA for her "Bad Blood" music video.

It was particularly surprising for everyone when the "Blank Space" singer was nowhere to be found during this year's VMAs.

Was her absence in any way connected to the attendance of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, to whom she has an ongoing feud? Or was it because of the attendance of ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, who was nominated for the song they supposedly wrote together?

The controversial song of the Scottish DJ with Rihanna, "This Is What You Came For", eventually won Best Male Video.

However, these speculations were put to rest when pictures of the 26-year-old singer, attending a Jury duty in Nashville, surfaced on the Internet.

The schedule of her jury duty supposedly conflicted with the MTV event.

But the singer was eventually dismissed as a possible juror for a rape and kidnapping case. Taylor requested that she be relieved of her duty for this particular case because of a possible conflict of interest with her upcoming trial in Denver where a fan 'groped' her.

But an insider also told People that the singer and songwriter has no intention of attending the MTV VMA event in New York City as she was not nominated for any award.
