According to a recent article, United Nations realized that sex education is not being highlighted these days. The little education that is out there lacks accurate information about sexuality and does not fully explain reproductive health.

This issue raises concern as it shows how the youth is uninformed today about the consequences of unprotected sex and otherwise, due to lack of knowledge. It is not enough that the sex educators advise their students to not do it because of their young age. It is important to create awareness about the issue that can help them evade many diseases and other problems that can arise due to unprotected sex.

There have also been reports claiming that the children who have undergone sex education are still not well informed about the issue. The facts and figures used during sex education are very limited and doesn't prevent the teenagers from doing it sooner than they should. However, whatever the children do not learn at educational institutions, parents at home should fill these gaps. The problem is that even the parents don't feel very comfortable about giving their children "the talk."

Some parents even refrain from discussing the subject as it is considered taboo and that it should only be handled by professionals. However, the truth is that the parents needs to be more open about the matter and rather than condemning the act, they should try to be more informative. This will help develop a bond of trust and understanding between parents and their children.
