Nintendo has finally unveiled the official trailer of the latest "The Legend of Zelda" title during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in Los Angeles, California. The official game title of the next iteration to the Zelda franchise is "Breath of the Wild" which is expected to arrive on the company's Wii U and next-generation console known as NX sometime in 2017.

So far, no release date has come out from the Japanese gaming giant but Nintendo did confirm that it will be rolled out sometime next year as it prepares to have the game launched on its next-gen console platform. However, the game publisher announced that NX would be unveiled around March 2017 (via The Verge).

At the said industry conference which ran from June 14 through June 16, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" executive producer Shigeru Miyamoto talked about their decision to design the game for both Wii U and NX and how it affected overall development of the much awaited Zelda game.

"It's complicated because as we're developing this -- obviously development of NX started a while ago -- and unfortunately, I'm sorry, but the development of this game took a lot longer than expected," Miyamoto said in an interview with IGN. "We really felt like we would be able to get it done last year, but there was a lot of struggle with using the physics engine, so that's why it took a long time."

As for the gameplay trailer, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" teases fans of Link's journey through stunning natural landscapes like grasslands, beautifully-chiseled canyons and shores with coconut trees. With his home-made glider, Link traverses over the air overlooking the vast expanse of the new Zelda game's open-world map.

Also featured in the preview is his ability to tame and ride wild horses and fearlessly climb towering heights from cliff faces to towers. To complete his superb set of skills as an adventurer, the trailer is also full of cooking, setting fire to dry grass, and, of course, fighting, MobiPicker reported.

For industry observers present during the E3 2016, "Breath of the Wild" deserved a positive review following the gameplay demos. Writing for the Guardian, Steve Boxer described the new Zelda title as "a very meaty game, which brings a more modern style of gameplay to the series, without sacrificing its core values - surely a recipe for great acclaim."
