Mark your calendars for May 10 Pokémon fans, for that's when we can expect to hear new information about the series' 7th Generation: "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon."

The news comes straight from the mouth of Junichi Masuda, composer and director of "Pokémon," who took to Twitter to announce that more information will be coming next week on May 10.

The announcement reveals that the details will come 21:00 JST, which is about 8 a.m. EST. In addition, he made a blog post where he confirmed the date and time, and he apologized to fans for the long wait for more information.

It's been a long time coming for Pokémon fans who have been dying to get their hands on any new information since "Sun" and "Moon" were revealed in February. The high that came with that reveal was followed by a few lows, however, when CoroCoro had promised that new information would be coming in its April issue, only to reveal that this information would be coming in May instead.

Furthermore, Masuda himself was responsible for quite a bit of disappointment in that same month when he appeared on a Japanese television show to debut what many had assumed was going to be a new look at the next "Pokemon" games. Instead, he showed off the "Pokémon" 20th anniversary video that aired ahead of the franchise's birthday and then later joked that the games would include "over 10 new Pokemon."

So what will Masuda reveal next week? New Pokémon, such as the starters or legendaries, would be a good place to start. The trademarks of what many have assumed are the three starters and two main legendaries of the games turned up on Twitter recently, so this would be a good chance for Pokémon Company International to capitalize on everyone's expectations. Furthermore, the region where the game will take place is also a good candidate. The Kalos region is kind of empty right now, and many suspect that "Sun" and "Moon" will be connected to the region in someway.

Of course, there are many other things that could be revealed (official release, new mechanics, etc.), so we'll just have to wait until May 10 to find out.
